Janata College is a virtual heaven of rural quiet and idyllic beauty. The splendid avenues trees and landscape that lead to the College, imposing buildings and the verdant greenery in and around the campus make it an ideal place for scholastic pursuits.

The College is an aided Institution which is affiliated to Sambalpur University. It is a 12(B), 2(F) status of the UGC having accreditated "C+" in the 1st cycle (2007-2012) and "B" in the 2nd cycle (2016-2021) of Accreditation.

The College provides only under Graduate Degree in Arts having Pass subject English, MIL(O) & Environment Studies as compulsory and History, Odia, Pol Science, Economics & Philosophy as optional. Honours in History, Odia, Pol Science & Philosophy is granted permission for opening from the session 2016.

The College has also been granted permission for opening of +3 Science with Honours in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Zoology & Botany from the Session 2016.

The Governing Body holds sole authority to decide on the fee structure of the college and other administrative norms as per the standard rules set by the state Government . The terms and tenures of the members of the Governing body is for three years and it is subject to approval of the Government for any kind of extension of its terms .
