NSS (National Service Scheme)
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. It provides opportunity to take part in various government led community service activities & programmes. The sole aim of the NSS is to provide hands on experience to young students in delivering community service.
The college NSS wing co-ordinates all its activities under the norms of the University. At the time of admission efforts are made by providing college calendar, leaflets etc about the various extension activities.The details of the programme are displayed on the notice board and an interaction of students is organized with NSS officer. The NSS programme officer and volunteers organize tree plantation, cleaning roads, ponds, well and awareness activities like environment pollution, effects of pesticides on human life, hygiene, nutrition and sanitation, in nearby villages.
The NSS with YRC unit of the college take up the organization of AIDS Awareness camp by inviting the local Medical Officer, research person to address on the topic.
To create awareness among the students and general public Road Safety Week is observed every year by the volunteers of NSS.
With the slogan of “TREE IS LIFE”, the college celebrates “BANA MAHOTSABA” (Forest Day) every year for plantation of trees in the college campus and nearby waste land.
The college encourages such extension activities to promote social responsibility and good citizenship. These activities, conducted by the institute always imbibe academic learning experience, values, and skills not only in students but in faculties too. These activities refresh the environment of the institute as well.
