The College Library is situated at the first floor of the main building of the College with an area about 1600 Sq.ft. and properly arranged and decorated. The reading room of the college is adjacent to the library. The reading room has a seating capacity of approximately 25 students. There is also a carrel for the teachers. Two computers with broadband connection are provided for the students to get knowledge from various sources. There is a computer based catalogue system that provides information on the availability of books, journals and other material.

Collection:
Library has a rich collection of more than 7000 text books and 3000 reference books on a wide variety of subjects along with books on religion, biography, and different types of dictionary, encyclopedia, important articles and very rare books. Library books are purchased either from publishers’ house or local suppliers by library purchase committee in consultation with the librarian and departmental faculty members.

The committee supervises the functioning of the library and suggests measures for it and monitors the list of the books and journals provided by the departments and ensure that the books are procured according to the list. The LAC meets at the beginning of academic session to finalize the budgetary allocation and make suggestion for improvement for optimum utilization and also takes up remedial actions towards the grievances expressed by the students and staff.

Rules and Regulations:
The College Library is open from 10.00a.m. To 4.00p.m. on all working days of the College.Each student will be provided with Library Card on production of his/her College Identity Card in the library counter, for records of borrowing and return of books.No book will be issued to a student without the presentation of the Library Card. He/she also has to present this card while returning the book.Students borrowing books from the Library should see that Library Card is properly filled in.No student is allowed to go beyond the counter in the library without permission of the Librarian.The students have to provide the list of books written by different authors to the library staffs one day in advance and the library staff finds out the books and issue them the next day.Students can borrow one book only at a time from the library using their Library card.Each borrower must examine the condition of the book before leaving the issue counter. In case mutilations are discovered later the presumption of guilt will be against the borrower and would make him liable to such penalties as may be imposed by the Principal.No book will be issued to a student until a book borrowed earlier by him/her is returned.The books can be issued only for duration of one week and in case of emergency requirement, the book can be reissued for another week only when nobody else wants to take that book. The librarian has every right to recall the book at any time, if the need arises.For re-issue the book should be placed before the librarian for necessary entries in the Register.When the date for the return of a book falls on an authorised holiday, it should be returned to the library on the next issue date.In case a student doesn’t return a book within the time allowed, a fine of Rs 1/- per day may be collected from the student for each extra day of retaining the book.Students are required to handle the books/ journals very carefully; No marginal or other note or marking shall be made in the library books nor shall any picture, map, page be removed or torn or otherwise disfigured.A book lost, soiled or otherwise damaged or not returned by a student, must be replaced by him/her, else a penalty of three times of the cost of the book and shall be recovered from the student before the final form fill up.Maps, University Calendar, University questions, current issue of periodicals, magazines, courses of studies and rare books shall not be issued for home use without the special permission of the Principal.No Student against whom any overdue or other charges are outstanding will be allowed to borrow from the library until the library dues are cleared.All books belonging to the library under the possession of borrowers should be returned to the library before the College closes for summer vacation on or/before the date notified for the purpose.Students must return the Library Card along with all the books borrowed in order to obtain Library Clearance from the college library before filling up forms for University / CHSE Examination and also while taking C.L.C. or T.C. from the College.For use in the reading room, one book at a time may be issued to a student on production of his College Identity Card. A student has to return book taken against the Identity Card before leaving the reading room otherwise a fine of Rs 1/- per day will be charged.Library premises should not be used for any purpose other than reading/consultation of books and periodicals of the library. Refreshment of any kind shall not be taken anywhere in the library. Using mobile phones, spitting, smoking, sleeping inside the library, and putting one’s legs on the library furniture are strictly forbidden.All those, who happen to be inside the library or its neighborhood, are expected to observe strict silence and any sort of discussion in the library is not allowed. The librarian is authorized to see that silence is strictly observed and to report any willful breach of the same.A duplicate card will be issued to him/her on an application and payment of a fine of Rs. 5/- only, in case a student loses his/her Library Card.Library clearance is a must for teaching and non teaching staff on transfer, for obtaining their Release Orders from the college.A person who takes books from the library is supposed to have read the library rules and is presumed to have agreed to abide by the library rules. Ignorance of the library rules will not be an excuse for breach of any rule.
